Two Indian Experts Test Positive for COVID-19
VGP – Viet Nam confirmed six new COVID-19 cases on Monday afternoon, bringing the national patient tally to 2,791.

The latest patients include two Indian experts who flew from the United Arab Emirates to Viet Nam on April 10 and 18.
One of them is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi’s Dong Anh District and the other is being treated at Cu Chi field hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
Meanwhile, four of the Vietnamese patients were repatriated from Japan (one), the Republic of Korea (one), and the U.S. (one). The rest returned to Viet Nam via the Moc Bai International Border Gate in the Southern province of Tay Ninh.
The Government said Viet Nam remains at high risk of new COVID-19 outbreaks due to illegal immigration, particularly along the country’s Southern borderline, thus authorities must tighten borders control to prevent importation of COVID-19.
On April 17, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long signed a decision to establish five delegations to inspect COVID-19 prevention work in the Mekong Delta localities.
Long, who is Deputy Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, called on Kien Giang Province to strictly control land and sea borders to prevent illegal entrants during his inspection tour to the locality on April 18./.
