Tran Thanh Man takes over National Assembly following top legislator's exit
VGP - Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man will take over the legislative body after top legislator Vuong Dinh Hue was dismissed from his position.
Tran, aged 62, will run the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee until new Chairman of the Naitonal Assembly is elected.
He was Secretary of Can Tho Municipal Party Committee before becoming Vice Chairman of the National Assembly in 2021.
As reported earlier, the Party Central Committee had agreed for Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue to step down at his request.
Vuong was also relieved from his posts as member of the Politburo and member of the 13th Party Central Committee, the Party Central Committee decided at a meeting in Ha Noi last Friday.
Vuong was a key leader of the Party and the State. He has been trusted and assigned to undertake several important positions, according to a statement released after the meeting.
However, reports by the Party Central Committee's Inspection Commission show that he committed the Party regulations and his violations and flaws have negatively affected the public perception and the reputation of the Party and the State.
Being aware of his responsibilities before the Party, the State and the people, Vuong has sent in his resignation from his positions./.
