The visit will be made at the invitation of Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji, according to an announcement released by the National Assembly's Committee for External Relations on Thursday.

Viet Nam and China established diplomatic relations on January 18, 1950 and lifted up the ties to comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in 2008.

The two countries' comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has made great strides and obtained significant achievements since the historic visit to China by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in October 2022.

During the state visit to Viet Nam by Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping in December 2023, the two Parties and the two countries agreed to continue deepening and elevating the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and to build a Viet Nam-China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance. This was an important milestone during the development of the bilateral relations, raising the ties between the two Parties and the two countries to a new stage.

China has long stood as Viet Nam's foremost trading partner, with bilateral trade soaring to approximately US$172 billion by 2023. As the result, Viet Nam claims the title of China's largest trading partner within ASEAN and the world's 6th largest overall.

China poured over US$27.6 billion in 4,418 projects in Viet Nam, making it the 6th largest foreign investor among 145 countries and territories investing in Viet Nam./.
