The meeting took place within the framework of his official visit to the Central Asian country where he attends at the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-150).

Tran affirmed that Viet Nam's participation in the IPU-150 demonstrates the spirit of solidarity, friendship, and the desire to further promote the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation for development and prosperity between the two countries.

Viet Nam always values its traditional friendship with Uzbekistan and wishes to strengthen the ties to match the potential of both countries, highlighted the Vietnamese legislator.

Mirziyoyev, for his part, spoke highly of the top Vietnamese legislator's historic visit to Uzbekistan, asserting that Viet Nam is a friendly and an important partner of Uzbekistan in the Southeast Asian region.

Both sides emphasized the need to enhance extensive exchanges and political dialogue at all levels, especially at high level, continue close coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums, as well as step up collaboration between legislative bodies, including sharing experiences in overseeing law enforcement.

The two sides pledged to sign cooperation documents to establish a solid legal framework for comprehensive development of bilateral relations.

To further elevate bilateral economic, trade, and investment ties to a new level, both sides should encourage businesses from the two countries to connect and explore cooperation opportunities in areas such as healthcare, energy, oil and gas, textiles and garments, and agriculture, they noted.

There are ample rooms for cooperation in areas such as transport connectivity, tourism, culture, education and training, and local-to-local cooperation, the leaders said.

They vowed to create favorable conditions to boost tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, explore the possibility of opening more flight routes, increase the frequency of direct flights, and adopt favorable visa policies for citizens of both countries./.
