Top Vietnamese leader holds talks with Singaporean President

The two leaders agreed to further deepen economic cooperation, promote high-quality investment inflows into strategic and high valued-added fields, and strengthen partnership between the two countries' business communities.
The Vietnamese side spoke highly of the ASEAN power grid initiative, pledging to make responsible contributions to the realization of the initiative as it plays a significant importance for national development.
The two leaders agreed on the need to bolster science and technology cooperation as a pillar of Viet Nam-Singapore comprehensive strategic partnership.
Both sides concurred to further deepen defense and security cooperation in commensurate with the high political trust level between the two countries, and expand cooperation to new areas. The two leaders underscored the importance of consolidating social foundations for bilateral ties through cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
The two sides vowed to enhance coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums, uphold multilateralism and the role of the United Nations in addressing global security and development matters.
Both sides pledged to work together to consolidate ASEAN centrality, especially when Singapore assumes the chairmanship of ASEAN and Viet Nam hosts APEC in 2027; promote negotiations on a Code of Conduct in the East Sea that is efficient, substantive and effective manner.
