The Vietnamese top legislator made the above statement during his reception for Chief Justice of Russia Lebedev Vyacheslav Mikhailovich in Ha Noi on June 20.

Vuong welcomed the Russian official's ongoing visit, which takes place on the occasion of the 10th founding anniversary of the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly supports comprehensive and extensive cooperation between the two nations' judicial sectors in general and the supreme courts in particular.

Vuong expressed his belief that the outcomes of the talks would soon lead to significant progress in the beneficial cooperation between the two sides.

According to the Vietnamese leader, the 13th Party Central Committee issued a resolution on continuing to build and complete the socialist rule-of-law State of Viet Nam in the new period, which includes various contents related to improving the effectiveness of the court system.

In this process, Viet Nam appreciates the invaluable support, cooperation, and sharing of experience regarding law and justice from Russia and its Supreme Court, said Vuong.

For his part, Lebedev said the Supreme Court of Russia submitted 187 bills to the Federal Assembly, of which 108 have become laws.

Apart from the legislative work, the Supreme Court has also engaged in various forms of cooperation with the Federation Council and the State Duma, particularly in fine-tuning and enforcing laws and amending and supplementing activities of courts.

A part from working closely with the Federal Assembly of Russia, the Supreme Court also summarized the practice in the enforcement of laws. It analyzed and recapitulated trial practices for publication in government and Supreme Court journals.

Lebedev said his visit would contribute to expanding ties with the Supreme People's Court of Viet Nam and that the two nations would promote the exchange of visits at all levels as well as tourism and people-to-people exchanges as Russian citizens are keen on vacationing in Viet Nam./.
