Top legislator leaves for AIPA-46 and official visit to Malaysia
VGP - Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man on Tuesday embarked on a five-day tour to Malaysia to attend the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) and pay an official visit to the neighboring country.

Tran's tour is made at the invitation of Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives Dato' Johari Bin Abdul, who is also AIPA-46 President and President of the Malaysian Senate Dato' Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.
He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; NA Vice Chairman Le Minh Hoan; Secretary-General of the NA, Chairman of the NA Office Le Quang Tung; Chairman of the NA's Committee for National Defense, Security, and External Relations Le Tan Toi; Chairman of the NA's Ethnic Council Lam Van Man; Chairman of the NA's Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs Phan Van Mai; Chairman of the NA's Committee on Culture and Society Nguyen Dac Vinh; Deputy Minister of National Defense Nguyen Van Hien; Deputy Minister of Public Security Dang Hong Duc and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Anh Tuan.
The top Vietnamese legislator's participation at the AIPA-46 reaffirms Viet Nam's commitment to actively participating in and contributing to promoting AIPA's role in maintaining peace, stability, and cooperation in the region, realizing the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, and strengthening ASEAN's centrality.
It also shows Viet Nam's support for Malaysia as ASEAN Chair in 2025 and as host of AIPA-46, Viet Nam's willingness to work with ASEAN member states to promote inclusive and sustainable growth, and integrate and advance Viet Nam's priorities and initiatives, particularly in cybersecurity, new energy and digital economy.
This is the first official visit to Malaysia by the top Vietnamese legislator since the two countries officially upgraded their relations into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in November last year, thereby fostering effective and substantive bilateral parliamentary cooperation, and contributing to building a legal framework that enables the two governments and business communities to strengthen collaboration./.
