Top leaders pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, heroic martyrs
VGP - A delegation of the Party, State, and Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee on Thursday laid wreaths at the Monument for Heroic Martyrs and President Ho Chi Minh mausoleum in Ha Noi on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).

The delegation was led by General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Tran Cam Tu, President of the VFF Central Committee Do Van Chien.
They commemorated heroic martyrs who bravely struggled and sacrificed their lives for the national liberation and reunification, the nation's independence and freedom and people's happiness, and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh.
The same day, delegations from the Central Military Commission – the Ministry of National Defence; the Central Public Security Party Committee – the Ministry of Public Security; the Ministry of Home Affairs; and the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and VFF Committee of Ha Noi, also visited the monument and the mausoleum to pay their respects to war invalids and martyrs and President Ho Chi Minh.
The anniversary is officially designated to honor and remember wounded soldiers (war invalids) and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national independence, freedom, and reunification.
July 24 is significant in Viet Nam's national history and is marked with ceremonial events including state-level commemorations, tributes at war cemeteries and memorial sites, visits to martyrs' families and invalids by Party and State leaders and public campaigns and patriotic education to honor the nation's heroic traditions./
