Top leader meets Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow

Medvedev congratulated Viet Nam on the success of the 14th National Party Congress, which set out major development orientations opening a new era for Viet Nam.

He also congratulated on Viet Nam's great and comprehensive achievements during the renewal process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

Medvedev affirmed that Russia always considers Viet Nam a traditional friend and a priority and trusted partner in the Asia-Pacific region.

Medvedev highly valued the relations between the United Russia Party and the Communist Party of Viet Nam, describing this as a channel of strategic cooperation that helps consolidate political trust and create a solid foundation for bilateral relations.

To Lam, for his side, expressed his pleasure to meet comrade Medvedev again, and appreciated his contributions to the development of Russia as well as the consistent advancement of the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Viet Nam and Russia.

To Lam affirmed that the Party, State and people of Viet Nam always bear in mind and appreciate the great and whole-hearted assistance of the former Soviet Union and the present-day Russia for Viet Nam's past struggle for national liberation and reunification and the current course of national construction and defense.

To Lam reiterated Viet Nam's consistent policy of treasuring the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia, considering the relationship one of the top priorities in Viet Nam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multi-lateralization.

Viet Nam wishes to work with Russia to further advance the bilateral ties in an increasingly substantive, effective and sustainable manner, affirmed To Lam.

He suggested the two Party continue to promote their pioneering role in shaping bilateral relations, maintain regular exchange of delegations at all level, effectively implement the agreements reached by the two Parties, enhance experience sharing and theoretical exchanges in Party building, political system development, national governance, socio-economic development, digital transformation, public workforce training, and anti-corruption.

To Lam also suggested both countries boost cooperation in such fields like energy, oil and gas, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, education and training, logistics, transport and people-to-people exchanges, while working together to develop long-term strategic cooperation orientations to create new impetus for the bilateral ties in the new development stage.

Medvedev affirmed that the United Russia Party and he personally would continue to support the effective implementation of the agreements reached by the two countries' senior leaders.

He also voiced support for the expansion of bilateral cooperation in economy, energy, oil and gas, science and technology, education and training, digital transformation, while creating favorable conditions for the two sides' business communities to further strengthen trade and investment cooperation.

The two leaders expressed their pleasure at the positive growth momentum of the relations between the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the United Russia Party in recent years, reiterating that the Party-to-Party relations constitute an important pillar providing political foundation, strengthening strategic trust, and guiding the long-term development of Viet Nam-Russia relations.

The two leaders agreed to continue intensifying coordination at multilateral forums and cooperation mechanisms among political parties; working together to promote multilateralism and uphold the role of the United Nations Charter and international law, thereby contributing to the environment of peace, stability, cooperation and development./.
