General Secretary, State President To Lam

1. General Secretary, State President To Lam, aged 69, also holds two key positions: Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Chairman of the National Defense and Security Council.

To Lam was born in the northern province of Hung Yen. He joined the Communist Party of Viet Nam on August 22, 1981.

He serves a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (11th, 12th, 13th, and 14th tenures); member of Political Bureau (12th, 13th, and 14th tenures.

To Lam was appointed as Deputy Minister of Public Security in 2010 and served as Minister of Public Security between 2016 and 2024.

He was elected as State President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on May 22, 2024.

On August 3, 2024, he was elected as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee.

On January 23, 2026, he was re-elected as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee.

On April 7, 2026, he was elected as the State President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man

2. Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man was born in 1962 in Thanh Xuan commune, Can Tho city. He holds a doctorate in economics and a bachelor’s degree in politics. He is currently a Politburo member, and Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee.

He served as an alternate member of the Party Central Committee in the 10th tenure; a member of the Party Central Committee (11th, 12th, 13th and 14th tenures); a member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat (12th tenure); and a Politburo member (13th and 14th tenures). He has been a NA deputy for the 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th legislatures.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung

3. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, aged aged 56, is a Politburo member (13th tenure since May 2024 and 14th tenure); Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (13th and 14th tenures); member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (12th, 13th, and 14th tenures).

He has been appointed to hold various positions: Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam from April 2016 to to October 2020; Chairman of the Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam from October 2020 to May 2024; Chairman of the Central Organization Commission, Chairman of the Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam from May 2024 to April 2026.

On April 7, 2026: he was elected as Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam at the first working session of the 16th National Assembly.

Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu

4. Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu was born August 25, 1961.

He is a member of the Political Bureau (13th and 14th tenures); Secretary of the Party Central Committee (12th tenure since June 2018, 13th tenure and 14th tenure).

He serves as Standing Member of the Secretariat (13th tenure since October 25, 2024, and 14th tenure since January 23, 2026)./.
