The visit will be made at the invitation of Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue.

Since the establishment of relations on March 22, 1973, the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Viet Nam-Belgium have only grown.

The two sides have actively coordinated in multilateral forums. Political-diplomatic relations have developed positively and been substantively demonstrated through many high-level visits.

In particular, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Belgium last December contributed to deepening the relationship.

Since 2018, Belgium has been Viet Nam's strategic partner in the agricultural sector.

Belgium is the 6th biggest European trade partner of Viet Nam with the two-way trade volume hoving around €3 billion a year and the figure increases annually, reflecting a sign of growing economic complementarity between the two sides.

As of February, Belgium had 87 valid investment projects in Viet Nam with total investment of US$1.1 billion, ranking it 23rd out of 142 countries and territories with investment.

Over the past 50 years, Viet Nam and Belgium have enjoyed fruitful partnerships across all fields, from politics and diplomacy to economy, culture, and people-to-people exchanges./.
