VGP – General Secretary To Lam has stressed the need to mobilize private investment in essential infrastructure development projects such as railways, expressways, energy, and defense and security industry.

During a working session with the executive Party Committee of the Government on August 10, General Secretary To urged the Government to focus on improving institutions and laws, especially in the areas of investment, land and planning in a bid to mobilize all resources for nationa development.

He requested the Government to adopt policies to mobilize private sector's investment in essential infrastructure development projects such as railways, expressways, energy, and defense and security industry.

To also urged the Government to accelerate industrialization and modernization process, restructuring of the economy, and creating new growth model underpinned by science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as key drivers.

The Government needs to booost digital economy, knowledge economy and global competitiveness, particularly in new industries and new technologies, said To.

The Party leader asked the Govenrment to steer resources to development of synchronous, modern, smart and internationally-connected infrastructure; ensure energy security for high growth in the next period. He said Viet Nam will invest in building nuclear power plants powered by new and safe technologies.

The Party chief also urged the Government to improve social welfare for all people, ensuring all citizens benefit from national development process./.
