The top Vietnamese leader made the call on Monday while addressing the working session with the Central Policy and Strategy Commission and relevant agencies.

During the working session, the participants discussed the project on overall review of the implementation of the Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam on the Strategy for sustainable development of marine economy through 2030, vision to 2045.

Central to mindset innovation is to take a bold transform from marine economy mindset to marine development space mindset, stressed To Lam.

Sea is not just a place for exploiting natural resources or developing some economic sectors. Rather, it must be the nation's strategic development space, said To Lam.

From that perspective, the central question is how Viet Nam would utilize its marine space to achieve national development goals in the coming decades, he said.
