Three high-ranking police and military officers promoted to general rank
VGP - General Secretary and President To Lam has decided to promote three high-ranking police and military officers to general rank.
Under the decisions, Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, and Minister of Public Security, was promoted from the rank of Senior Lieutenant General to General.
Nguyen Tan Cuong, Party Central Committee member, Standing member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People's Army, and Deputy Minister of National Defense, was promoted from the rank of Senior Lieutenant General to General.
Nguyen Doan Anh, Party Central Committee member, member of the Central Military Commission, and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Viet Nam People's Army, was promoted from the Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General.
The promotion reflects the deep trust of the Party, State, and people for the armed forces. It also acknowledges and appreciates the significant contributions of the high-ranking officers to the construction and development of the Army and the Police, as well as to the cause of national construction and defense, said To Lam at the ceremony.
According to the top leader, consolidating national defense, ensuring national security, maintaining political stability, and preserving social order and safety are vital and ongoing tasks for the Party, State, the entire political system, and the people, with the People's Army and the Police being the core forces.
He expressed his belief that the promoted officers will uphold the glorious traditions of the heroic People's Army and Police, maintain revolutionary ethical qualities, remain absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people, and dedicate themselves fully to serving the country and the people./.
