Switzerland sends 13 tons of humanitarian aid to Viet Nam
VGP – The Swiss Government sent 13 tons of humanitarian aid including 30 respirators, 500,000 antigen tests, and 300,000 protective masks to help Viet Nam combat the worst coronavirus outbreaks.
The aid was transported from Zurich airport and is expected to land in Tan Son Nhat Airport in HCMC, the epicenter of Viet Nam’s fourth wave of coronavirus resurgence.
The delivery materializes outcomes of the recent official visit of Swiss Vice President and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis to Viet Nam from August 4-8 on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Earlier, Switzerland pledged medical aid worth CHF5 million (US$5.5 million) to Viet Nam.
Overall, Switzerland has provided CHF600 million in funding to Viet Nam over the past 30 years and continues to support development programs here./.
