Sultan of Brunei: Viet Nam is crucial partner of Brunei
VGP - Viet Nam is a crucial partner of Brunei in the region, reiterated Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah while hosting a reception for Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son in Brunei on September 7.
The Sultan of Brunei spoke highly of Bui's official visit during which he co-chaired the second meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation between Viet Nam and Brunei Darussalam (JCBC-2).
He congratulated on Viet Nam's success in socio-economic development and its increasing role and status in the region.

He pledged to continue accelerating Brunei-Viet Nam Comprehensive Partnership in a more effective and practical manner, bringing interests for their peoples.
For his part, Bui briefed outcomes of the JCBC-2, including the sides' agreement to develop an action plan on the implementation of the Comprehensive Partnership for the 2023-2027 period.
He expressed his hope that the Sultan will continue promoting the Comprehensive Partnership between the two nations, soon resume high-level visits and enhance trade balance towards reducing Viet Nam's trade deficit with Brunei.
Bui took the occasion to call on the two sides' enterprises to expand investment, strengthen connectivity and open a direct air route to pave the way for economic development and foster culture, tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
He expected that the two nations will continue close coordination at multi-lateral frameworks and ASEAN to uphold each side's status and make contribution to consolidating solidarity and the central role of ASEAN./.
