State President receives German guest
VGP – Vietnamese State President Nguyễn Minh Triết on September 14 warmly welcomed Mr. Egon Krenz, former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Socialist Unity Party of the German Democratic Republic (GDR).

State President Nguyễn Minh Triết expressed his gratitude to the valuable support and assistance of socialist countries, including the GDR, for Việt Nam’s struggle for national independence and unification.
The State President hoped that Mr. Egon Krenz, a friend of Vietnamese people, would further promote the cooperative ties between Việt Nam and Germany for mutual benefits and friendly cooperation.
Mr. Egon Krenz expressed his delight to witness Việt Nam’s achievements over the past time, especially the development of Hà Nội on the threshold of its 1000th birthday anniversary.
The guest also expected to see new cooperation opportunities between the two countries./.
