The ceremony was attended by Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

During their meeting held on the same day, Gheit emphasized the historic significance of the Vietnamese State President's first visit to the Arab League headquarters, highlighting Viet Nam's high regard for the League as well as the long-standing and strong historical ties between the Vietnamese people and the Arab nations.

The Arab League and its member states highly value their comprehensive cooperation with Viet Nam, expressing thanks for Viet Nam's balanced principled stance, which aligns with international law and the United Nations Charter on global issues, including its support for the Palestinian people, said Gheit.

The Secretary-General pledged to make every effort within his capacity to promote the relationship between Viet Nam and the League, and further deepen Viet Nam's ties with its member states.

Luong, for his part, highly appreciated the role and positive contributions of the Arab League in maintaining peace, stability, and development in the Middle East and North Africa region and around the world.

He expressed his confidence that the Arab League will continue to achieve even greater successes in building a united, prosperous, and developed community across all fields.

Viet Nam expects to further develop its substantive and effective relations with the Arab League and all its member states, most of which are traditional friends and important economic partners of the Southeast Asian country, he noted.

The State President called on both sides to further strengthen political and diplomatic ties and continually reinforce the close, heartfelt, and trusting relationship between Viet Nam and the Arab League's members.

He urged both sides to actively implement existing cooperation programs, particularly the Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat of the Arab League.

Luong called for enhancing consultations and supporting each other at multilateral mechanisms, especially within the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, adding that Viet Nam stands ready to serve as a bridge connecting the Arab League with the ASEAN region./.
