Special moment in VN-Cambodia relations

VGP – At the invitation of Vietnamese State President Nguyễn Minh Triết, the Cambodian royal family on June 22 embarked on a friendly visit to Việt Nam on June 22-25.

State President Nguyễn Minh Triết described the visit of the Cambodian royal family to Việt Nam, as a special event in the traditional friendship and cooperation between Việt Nam and Cambodia.

President Nguyễn Minh Triết and Cambodian former King Norodom Sihanouk looked back on the deep memories in which the two neighboring countries united and supported each other during their respective struggles for national independence and salvation.

For his part, former King Norodom Sihanouk expressed his gratitude to Vietnamese leaders and people for their great support and assistance to the royal family and the people of Cambodia. 

Both State President Triết and former King Sihanouk satisfied with the fine traditional relations between the two countries and believed that the long-standing neighborliness and close ties of country leaders would further develop for prosperity in the two countries as well as for peace, friendship, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
