Southeastern region boosts human-centered tourism development
VGP – Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam has called upon the Southeastern region to focus on human-centred tourism development and enable local people to engage in tourism development in favor of poverty reduction.

Addressing the event, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan said that the Southeastern region is the most dynamic region in Viet Nam thanks to abundant advantages.
The Secretary proposed the region focus on four groups of solutions including boosting private investment, manpower development, development of tourism products with specific strategies, and smart tourism development in favor of sustainable growth.
Meanwhile, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam highlighted the significance of the interprovincial conference which was firstly held after the Covid-19 outbreak in Viet Nam.
According to the Government leader, tourism especially community tourism not only brings about benefits for enterprises but also serves poverty reduction.
Hence, Mr. Dam underlined the necessity to focus on human-centered tourism development and enable people to participate in long-term tourism development in favor of poverty eradication.
He also noticed the importance of developing tourism and preserving natural wildlife and uniqueness of local culture. As the Covid-19 pandemic is developing complicatedly across the globe, the tourism sector must ensure precautionary measures for tourists, tour guides, and the community.
On this occasion, nine travel agencies in Ho Chi Minh City and 20 tourist service providers in the southeastern region signed agreements to co-organize tourist itineraries from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, and Ba Ria Vung Tau provinces. They will offer high quality travel programs at attractive prices to promote domestic tourism./.
