Vice Chairman of the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu said the master plan has outlined basic tasks for the city such as investment, product development, promotion and destination management so that the area keeps its unique values intact and in harmony with the environment, and links with other local and national destinations.
Son Tra Peninsula is regarded as the green lung for the coastal city with a rich flora ecosystem and popular tourism sites like Linh Ung - Bai But Pagoda.
Especially, the peninsula is home to around 300 red-shanked douc langurs on the list of endangered species. This will be one of the highlights to attract tourists to the area.
By 2025, the tourist attraction is expected to be visited by about 3.5 million tourists a year, grossing a revenue of about VND1.9 trillion, and the figure will reach 4.6 million by 2030, earning a turnover of about VND4.3 trillion.
Top priority will be given to developing a spiritual tourism area, as well as a high-end ecological, sports and holiday area for high-class visitors. The focus will be on attracting international visitors from countries in North American, Western European, Northeast Asia, and Southeast Asia.
As a national tourism area, Son Tra will contribute to creating more than 2,800 jobs for direct workers.
