SMS applied for selling agro-products

The short message service (SMS) search for agricultural information is jointly provided by Viettel Media and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Information Center for Agricultural and Rural Development (ICARD).
Through SMS software installed on their mobile phones, farmers can search prices of agro-products and equipment as well as air their related advertisements within over 20 cities and provinces.
It is reported that the program came into operation since the early of the year.
So far, the database of ICARD is full enough to meet different demands of peasants. And nearly 230 stations were established to be in charge of regularly offering agricultural information.
ICARD intends to open networks of enterprises specializing in production, processing, purchase, and export in the sector for better data provision.
