Slovenia opens Consulate General in HCM City
VGP - The Consulate General of Slovenia was inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam's largest economic engine on June 19.
The event marks a new landmark in the bilateral relations, especially in the context that the two nations are celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
Addressing the event, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of Slovenia Renata Cvelbar Bek said, over the last three decades, relations between Viet Nam and Slovenia have been strengthened in terms of politics and economics.
Viet Nam is one of the best growing economies in Asia and becomes an attractive destination for investment from all over the globe, she noted.
Bui Quang Minh, a famous businessman in the Vietnamese startup community, was recognized as Honorary Consul of Slovenia in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Honorary Consul said that he will try his best to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two countries in all fields, especially in high technology, renewable energy, high-tech agriculture and tourism.
He believed that with the close cooperation between the Slovenian Consulate, the business communities and the people of the two countries, Viet Nam and Slovenia will together build a new chapter for the next 30 years of their diplomatic relations, towards prosperity, solidarity and sharing.
Viet Nam and Slovenia established their diplomatic relations on June 7, 1994. Since then, the two countries have kept nurturing their friendship and cooperation in various fields. They always coordinate closely and support each other at international forums. Slovenia is currently Viet Nam's most important economic partner in the Balkans and Viet Nam has become a major trading partner of Slovenia in ASEAN./.
