Six Vietnamese universities enter THE World University Rankings 2023

They are Ho Chi Minh City-based Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University, Viet Nam National University-Ha Noi (VNU), Ha Noi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Viet Nam National University–Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) and Hue University in Thua Thien-Hue, which was named on the list for the first time.

Duy Tan and Ton Duc Thang were placed between 401st and 500th; VNU in 1001st – 1200th; and the remaining three in the 1501st.

The rankings include nearly 1,800 universities across 104 countries and regions, the largest and most diverse of its kind to date.

This year's league table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution's performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

The rankings analyzed over 121 million citations across more than 15.5 million research publications and included survey responses from 40,000 scholars.

In July this year, the Ministry of Education and Training announced seven Vietnamese universities meet international accreditation standards.

They are Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology under Viet Nam National University (VNU)-Ho Chi Minh City, University of Science and Technology under Da Nang University, Ha Noi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Ha Noi University of Civil Engineering; University of Science under VNU-Ha Noi, Ton Duc Thang University and International University under VNU-Ho Chi Minh City.

Up to 177 educational facilities at university and college levels satisfy the national standard on educational quality, the ministry said.

Three Vietnamese universities were listed in the top 1,000 universities worldwide, according to the latest QS World University Rankings 2023. 

They are Duy Tan University in the central city of Da Nang, Viet Nam National University in Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi National University./.
