Shrimp export to China surges sharply
VGP - Viet Nam’s shrimp export to China and Hong Kong in the first five months of 2016 increased 34.3% year on year, according to the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

Alongside gains from the Chinese and Hong Kong markets, shrimp sale to the United States (US), the European Union and the Republic of Korea also reported the positive growth, with the US registering a year-on-year rise of 17.4%.
Meanwhile, decreases ranging between 22-31.6% were seen in the country's shrimp exports to Japan, Australia, Canada, ASEAN, Chinese Taipei and Switzerland.
The US continued to be the biggest consumer of Viet Nam’s shrimp, accounting for 22.6% of the country’s total export volume. The EU ranked second with 18.9%, while Japan and China followed at 17% and 16.6%, respectively.
