Deputy PM Hue made the suggestions at the second Central Region Economic Forum on September 25 in Da Nang.

The event drew the attendance of leaders from relevant ministries, agencies, and ten Central localities from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan, and hundreds of businesses and business associations.

Mr. Hue stressed that the Central region is the ‘front” of the country and plays an important role in maritime economic development. Despite abundant potentials for development, the region is struggling poverty. Hence, the Government leader recommended the forum focus on four issues in an effort to help the area escape from poverty.

Firstly, the Central region was asked to clarify impetus for growth, local potentials and advantages, mechanisms for State budget formation and balance-sheet in favor of investment attraction.

Secondly, the ten provinces and cities were suggested to discuss with each other to make full use of advantages for growth. Experts and local leaders were asked to assess advantages and challenges and consult the Government to perfect regional connectivity mechanisms and economic coordinating institutions.

Thirdly, Deputy PM Hue noted the importance of regional economic regulatory institutions without enlarging  personnel apparatus.

Fourthly, the forum should continue to evaluate potentials and challenges of the region in the context of deep international integration and the robust development of the fourth industrial revolution.

Finally, Deputy PM Hue stressed that maritime economic development and private economic growth are the key to the region to thrive./.
