The event, which runs through May 15, will see the competition of 32 teams of universities, colleges and technical secondary schools across the country. These teams were the best among 245 teams participating in this year’s Robocon, which was first launched in 2002.

As part of the final round, a Tech show will be held in Tuyên Sơn Sport Complex, aiming to encourage students to transform what they learnt from robocon competitions into hi-tech products of a high degree of application.

The winner of Robocon Việt Nam 2011will represent Việt Nam at the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand in September this year.

The Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2011, themed Loy Krathong, Lighting Happiness with Friendship, aims to forge the friendship between young people who share the same interests as well as promote the development of engineering and broadcasting technologies in the region.

Việt Nam has championed the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest for three times.
