Retail oil and petrol prices fall for fifth consecutive time
VGP – Viet Nam decided on Thursday to further lower retail prices of oil and petrol on Thursday, the fifth consecutive time since late June.
Specifically, a liter of popular RON 95 gasoline now costs VND24,660, down VND940 while that of biofuel RON 92 costs VND23,720, down VND900.
Price of diesel decreased by VND1,000 to VND22,900 per liter and price of kerosene fell by VND1,120 to VND23,320.
Price of mazut keeps unchanged at VND16,540 per liter.
Viet Nam's GDP accelerated to 7.72 percent growth in the second quarter from 5.03 percent in the previous quarter, reported the General Statistics Office (GSO).
This is the fastest growth pace in the second quarter from 2011-2021, according to the GSO.
With this growth rate, the Southeast Asian country's GDP expanded 6.42 percent in the first six months this year compared to 2.04 percent and 5.74 percent of the same period in 2020 and 2021, respectively./.
