Remittances to Ho Chi Minh City near US$7.4 bln in 9 months
VGP – Remittances to Ho Chi Minh City reached US$7.392 billion in the first nine months of 2024, a year-on-year increase of 10.5 percent.

The above figure is equivalent to 78.1 percent of the total overseas remittance flow (US$9.46 billion) to the southern metropolis in 2023.
The largest chunk of the remittances came from Asia, accounting for 53.8 percent of Ho Chi Minh City's remittances so far this year.
In 2023, full-year personal remittances from overseas Vietnamese workers reached all-time high of US$16 billion, up 22 percent from 2022, according to the State Bank of Viet Nam.
Between 1993 and 2022, remittances to Viet Nam totaled over US$190 billion, equivalent to the total disbursed volume of foreign direct investment in the Southeast Asian nation./.
