Putin places importance on Viet Nam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak in Kazan, Russia, on October 23.
Pham, who is in Russia to attend the expanded BRICS Summit, reiterated that Viet Nam always considers Russia one of its top priority partners in its foreign policy.
He spoke highly of the fruitful development in political and diplomatic ties between the two nations, particularly following Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Viet Nam in June 2024, saying that exchanges and meetings between both sides' senior leaders have helped consolidate a reliable political foundation for bilateral cooperation across various areas.
Pham expected to work with the Russian Government to seek solutions to to further intensify the bilateral collaboration, especially in areas where both sides have strengths and potential, on the basis of mutual benefit.
The Vietnamese Government always welcomes and supports Russian companies, including those in the oil and gas sector to expand operations in the Southeast Asian country, he said.
He took the occasion to invite the Russian Deputy Prime Minister to pay a visit to Viet Nam and convey an invitation to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to visit Viet Nam in the near future.
Novak, for his part, affirmed that President Putin and leaders of the Russian Government place importance on the comprehensive strategic partnership with Viet Nam and regard the country as a partner of top importance in the Asia-Pacific.
Both sides highlighted the positive outcomes of bilateral collaboration, especially in the fields of energy, oil and gas, contributing to each side's national development./.
