Malaysia, Taiwan and Republic of Korea are the largest markets for Vietnamese labor. In 2012, Việt Nam intends to expand labor export to other potential markets such as Australia, Canada, European countries, Laos and Cambodia.

According to Deputy Head of Department of Overseas Labor Đào Công Hải, the new markets are expected to offer high income for skilled laborers.

Some businesses operating in labor export have signed contracts to take Vietnamese workers to work in the US and Canada.

Hundreds of Vietnamese professionals are working overseas including 200 medical professionals in Algeria, Mozambique and Angola, 65 ones in agricultural experts in African countries under the framework of the tri-party cooperation between Việt Nam-Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and these nations.

According to Việt Nam Labor Export Association, the Southeast Asian markets, including Laos and Cambodia are evaluated as the destination for Vietnamese high-skilled workers.
