Popularising products with "nine-dash line" violates Viet Nam’s law: FM Spokesperson
VGP - The popularization and use of publications and products with the "nine-dash line" in Viet Nam is a violation of Viet Nam’s law and is not accepted, said Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang.

The Spokeswoman made the above statement in Ha Noi on July 6 at a regular press conference in response to a reporter's question regarding Viet Nam's ban on the film "Barbie" in the country due to its scence depicting the "nine-dash line".
The Department of Cinema under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism confirmed that the film would not be screened in Viet Nam due to the image of the "nine-dash line" following the evaluation made by the national film appraisal and classification council.
Regarding information related to the organizer of BlackPink's concert in Ha Noi publishing a map featuring the "nine-dash line," the Spokeswoman said that that Viet Nam's position on the "nine-dash line" has been consistently stated and reiterated many times.
The authorities are now verifying the information about the show, she said.
Viet Nam rejects the nine-dash line map which indicates China's unilateral, controversial, and assertive claims over much of the resource-rich East Sea, covering even Viet Nam's two island chains Truong Sa and Hoang Sa as well as its continental shelf.
Viet Nam consistently stated that it has sufficient legal grounds and historical evidence to assert its territory and sovereignty over the East Sea as well as the two archipelagoes.
The Hague-based international arbitration court has also in its landmark ruling, released in 2016, repudiated China's nine-dash line claims over the South China Sea under international law, a ruling that Viet Nam welcomed but China refused to recognize./.
