Vietnamese, Russian Deputy PMs hold talks in Saint Petersburg

VGP - Viet Nam and Russia should work closely to carry out projects with long-term strategic significance in the fields of energy and oil and gas, education and training, and scientific research, including the Ninh Thuan 1 Nuclear Power Plant and the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko made that above statement during his talks with Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on June 5.

The Russian official reiterated that Viet Nam is among Russia's most important partners in the region.

He highly appreciated the positive development of the bilateral cooperation in recent years and acknowledged the efforts of the ministries and agencies of both countries in implementing high-level agreements and the Comprehensive Plan for Russian-Vietnamese Cooperation through 2030, particularly in the areas of economic and trade cooperation, energy and oil and gas, culture, and tourism.

Pham, for his part, affirmed that the Government of Viet Nam will continue to join hands with the Russian Government to comprehensively promote cooperation across all areas, while maximizing the important coordinating role of the Viet Nam–Russia Intergovernmental Committee.

He recommended that both sides make every effort to effectively realize high-level agreements, further deepen traditional areas of cooperation, and expand collaboration into new sectors and projects.

He underscored Viet Nam's determination to expanding bilateral economic, trade, investment ties to meet the aspirations of their peoples.

The two Deputy Prime Ministers vowed to instruct their relevant agencies to make preparations for the upcoming 26th session of the Viet Nam–Russia Intergovernmental Committee, which is expected to be held in Viet Nam this year./.
