Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong, deputy head of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security’s Fire and Rescue Police Department, reported that the team saved a person and found the bodies of 14 others from the rubble caused by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake.

The team also handed over two tons of medical equipment and medicines from the ministry to authorities in Turkey, and visited and presented gifts to local residents.

Their efforts have been also acknowledged by residents in earthquake areas where the Vietnamese rescue police worked, as well as by volunteer forces there.

The ten-day working trip contributed to further strengthening the close solidarity between Viet Nam and Turkey, said Colonel Khuong.

Earlier, Vietnamese military personnel and police officers were deployed in Adiyaman city to help address the consequences of the devastating earthquake.

Viet Nam also sent another delegation of  76 soldiers to help Turkey. The delegation of the Viet Nam People’s Army with six service dogs, arrived in Antakya city of Turkey’s Hatay province on February 13 evening (local time), to join search and rescue activities for earthquake-hit victims./.
