At the ministry's regular press conference on October 26, Pham said the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel has maintained regular and close contact with representatives of the Vietnamese community in fighting areas to continuously update information, and asked local authorities to ensure safety for Vietnamese citizens, while preparing necessary citizen protection measures.
Since the beginning of the conflict, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt and Palestine to keep a close watch on the situation in the conflict area.
The ministry also regularly updates information about Vietnamese citizens and work with relevant authorities of the host country and Viet Nam to carry out citizen protection measures, support and ensure safety of Vietnamese citizens in necessary cases, she added.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Vietnamese citizens to avoid travelling to Israel if it is not necessary, she stressed, highlighting those in Israel must prepare for evacuation to a third country or coming back to the homeland.
Citizens should keep themselves updated with information from local authorities and the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel, while closely following warnings from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so as to take prompt decisions, the spokeswoman added.
