The launch ceremony took place on March 5 at the Viet Nam-Australia Business Forum on the sidelines of the of the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit commemorating the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Australia dialogue relations.
VietJet’s daily flights from Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh City and twice-weekly service to Ha Noi will operate twice a week from early June.
Beginning June 3, 2024, flight VJ93 will depart Ha Noi on Mondays and Fridays at 5:10pm to reach Melbourne at 6am the following day.
The VJ94 return leg will be wheels-up from Melbourne on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:30am, arriving in Ha Noi at 2:40pm.
Although Vietjet is broadly considered a low-cost carrier, its international Airbus A330s do offer a premium business class cabin.
Vietjet started exploiting the Australian market since April 2023. It has aggressively expanded its footprint to a solid 58 flights per week connecting Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide to the major business and commercial hub of Ho Chi Minh City.
