On January 28, the U.S. Embassy in Ha Noi posted messages "The Board of Peace welcomes Viet Nam as a founding member of our growing international organization".
Pham reiterated Viet Nam's consistent stance of supporting and standing ready to contribute to the joint efforts of the international community toward resolving conflicts and differences by peaceful means, in accordance with international law and the UN Charter, while respecting the fundamental rights of the parties concerned.
In that spirit, Viet Nam supports the peace plan for ending the Gaza conflict, adopted by the UN Security Council in Resolution 2803 on November 17, 2025, and it has accepted the invitation to join the Board of Peace to implement this plan, she said.
Viet Nam will actively work with members of the Board of Peace in implementing the peace plan, thereby helping to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip and promote sustainable peace in the Middle East on the basis of the two-state solution, in accordance with international law, the United Nations Charter, and relevant UN resolutions.
On January 16, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump sent a letter to General Secretary To Lam, inviting Viet Nam to join the Gaza Peace Council as a founding member state, together with the international community, to promote a sustainable peaceful solution to the Israel–Palestine conflict in the Gaza Strip.
The General Secretary accepted the invitation and affirmed that Viet Nam is willing to participate as a founding member state of the Peace Council, together with the U.S. and the international community, to make active contributions toward a long-term, comprehensive solution to the Middle East peace process, including the establishment of a Palestinian state living peacefully alongside the State of Israel./.
