Viet Nam, Thailand exchange cooperation documents

The event took place on the occasion of General Secretary and President To Lam's ongoing three-day official visit to Thailand.

The cooperation documents include:

(i) Action Program for implementing the Viet Nam–Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the 2026–2031 period;

(ii) Diplomatic note announcing that Thailand's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation will assume the functions and responsibilities previously held by the Ministry of Science and Technology and continue implementing the agreement signed with Viet Nam's Ministry of Science and Technology;

(iii) Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in developing a maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) center project between Viet Nam's low-cost airline Vietjet and Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor Office;

(iv) Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between Viet Nam's Academy of Politics, Public Administration and Governance and Thailand's Khon Kaen University;

The occasion, the two leaders unveiled the logo commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Thailand. The logo symbolizing the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties represents a shared journey of development and a sustainable partnership.

Over the past 50 years, the bilateral relations have steadily grown stronger and more dynamic, particularly after Viet Nam joined ASEAN in 1995. Today, the relationship is expanding across all fields in line with the framework of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership./.
