Viet Nam's gross domestic product (GDP) grows 8.39 percent in the second quarter of 2026, lifting growth in the first half of this year to 8.18 percent, among the highest rates globally.

Assessing the resilience and overall quality of Viet Nam's economic growth in the first half of 2026, Aquis Capital said the Southeast Asian country's improving business performance and record FDI inflows are reinforcing its strategic role in global supply chains.

The organization also highlighted the growing maturity of Viet Nam's domestic market and expectations of an upgrade by FTSE as factors that could create attractive opportunities for medium- and long-term investors.

Despite geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and continued volatility in global markets, Viet Nam's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 8.39 percent in the second quarter of 2026, lifting growth in the first half of the year to 8.18 percent, among the highest rates globally.

According to Aquis Capital, the quality and breadth of growth are particularly noteworthy, as Viet Nam's expansion is supported by multiple drivers rather than relying solely on high growth rates.

Industrial and manufacturing production remained a key growth engine, expanding by more than 10 percent, while the services sector, domestic consumption and tourism maintained strong momentum. Agriculture also continued to make a stable contribution to overall economic growth.

The combination of solid macroeconomic fundamentals and diverse growth drivers demonstrates the economy's resilience amid a challenging global environment, the organization said.

Viet Nam is also benefiting from long-term structural trends and increasingly establishing itself as a strategic manufacturing and technology hub in global supply chains.

Strong FDI flows from across Asia, coupled with the Government's consistent focus on infrastructure development, are supporting the country's transformation into a higher-value production and technology center.

Alongside record-high FDI inflows, the Government is accelerating investment in transport infrastructure, energy and digital transformation. These investments are expected to improve connectivity, enhance economic productivity and strengthen the foundations for sustainable growth in corporate earnings.

Aquis Capital said the combination of strong foreign investment, infrastructure development and a growing domestic market is creating favorable conditions for Viet Nam to deepen its participation in global supply chains.

The organization expects these structural advantages, together with potential improvements in the country's international market classification, will help Viet Nam to further attract medium- and long-term investment into the country./.
