Viet Nam remains one of the world's safest nations: Public security minister

In his remarks delivered at the 14th National Party Congress on Wednesday, the minister said that police work focuses on implementing the Party's three strategic objectives of maintaining peace and stability, promoting sustainable and high-quality development and improving all aspects of the people's lives.

The police force will ceaselessly strengthen security capacity and increase contributions to peace and stability in the region and the world, build a society that is orderly, disciplined, safe, and healthy, for the peaceful and happy life of the people, safeguard security in new spaces and emerging fields and effectively combat new methods of crime, emphasized the minister.

The sector will strive to build 50 percent of all communes nationwide and 18 localities free of drugs, moving toward a society without crime, noted the official.

The protection of national and ethnic interests as well as the legitimate interests of Vietnamese businesses and citizens overseas will be enhanced while international cooperation in implementing the Ha Noi Convention will be fostered, making Viet Nam a regional hub for cooperation in combating cybercrime in the Asia–Pacific region, stated Luong.

The sector targets to produce and supply security-industry products and services serving the domestic market and moving toward export, focusing on five product groups including products and services for safety and cybersecurity; big data industry products and services serving digital transformation; technical and professional equipment; fire prevention and firefighting products; and products for early detection, warning, and prevention of security and public order risks./.
