
The VNU Ha Noi was placed among the top 10.3 percent of leading higher education institutions in the region.
The university's ranking has improved thanks to significant progress in key indicators that directly reflect the quality of education and research.
In the academic reputation category and the employer reputation category, the VNU was ranked 122nd and 128th in Asia, respectively, rising by 14 and nine places compared to the previous ranking.
In terms of international research network, the university climbed 14 places to the top 75 universities in the region, clearly demonstrating its growing capacity for international integration and research collaboration.
Viet Nam has 25 higher education institutions in the list, including eight first-time entrants.
Of those ranked previously, seven improved, one maintained its position, and nine dropped with Duy Tan University ranking 165th, Viet Nam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (175th), Ton Duc Thang University (231st), and Van Lang University (251st).
Other institutions include Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (287th), Ha Noi University of Science and Technology (315th), University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (318th), and Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (355th).
The QS Asia University Rankings 2026 is the largest edition to date, featuring 1,529 higher education institutions from 25 countries and territories, including 558 universities ranked for the first time.
The results are based on over 1.5 million academic peer reviews and 520,000 employer evaluations from around the world. In addition, the QS analyzed more than 200 million scientific citations drawn from 19.8 million research publications.
