At the talks, held as part of the Vietnamese minister's working visit, both sides spoke highly of active and crucial achievements in the bilateral cooperation between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the NPA.

Since 2014, they co-organized seven security dialogues at the deputy ministerial-level and discussed strategic and important issues relevant to the international and regional security situations.

In the upcoming time, they pledged to increase delegation exchanges at all levels and maintain the annual organization of the Viet Nam-Japan security dialogue at the deputy ministerial-level.

Both sides vowed to share experience in ensuring security, fighting against transnational, criminal, cyber and drug crimes.

They emphasized the need to effectively carry out citizen protection work, create favorable conditions for each side's enterprises and laborers and join hands in protecting high-ranking mutual visits, especially on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The same day, the Vietnamese minister had meetings with Deputy Secretary General of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party Fumiaki Kobayashi, former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and Executive Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Yunichi Yamada.
