Viet Nam calls on U.S. to make objective assessment of its intellectual property protection rights

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang made the above statement on May 1 in reply to a reporter's inquiry regarding Viet Nam's reaction to the U.S. designating the nation as a "Priority Foreign Country" in its annual report on global intellectual property protection and enforcement.

Pham said, intellectual property protection is both a top priority and a consistent policy of Viet Nam, with a view to building a healthy and transparent business environment as well as transforming its growth model with science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the main driving forces.

Viet Nam calls on the U.S. to provide an objective and balanced assessment of the nation's efforts and achievements in the field of intellectual property protection.

The country is actively and effectively cooperating with the U.S. in this area, standing ready to share information and clarify its policies and regulations, she added.

The diplomat expressed her belief that both sides should continue to work closely to address differences, for their benefits and towards building a stable, balanced, and sustainable framework for economic and trade cooperation./.
