Viet Nam approves investment policy for Gia Binh International Airport

Along with Ha Noi-based Noi Bai International Airport, Gia Binh Airport is expected to leverage advantages in space, connectivity, and infrastructure, while also creating momentum for the development of other industries such as manufacturing, logistics, e-commerce, tourism, and services.

Construction of the Gia Binh International Airport project, about 40km from Ha Noi's center, kicked off in northern Bac Ninh province on December 10 last year, a dual-use facility designed to become a major aviation hub in northern Viet Nam. The airport will be completed by the end of 2026, with trial operations beginning in February 2027.

Covering nearly 1,960 hectares, the airport is being developed in line with environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards.

During 2021-2030 period, the airport will feature two runways with capacity to handle about 30 million passengers and 1.6 million tons of cargo annually.

From 2050 onwards, the airport will serve up to 50 million passengers and 2.5 million tons of cargo each year./.
