There will be three flights per week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, according to the State-owned Viet Nam Airlines.
The new air route is expected to not only attract arrivals from Italy but also passengers from other European countries, and promote economic, social and political ties between the two nations and between Viet Nam and Europe.
This is Viet Nam Airlines' 9th direct air route between Viet Nam and Europe. The others routes include Ha Noi-Paris, Ho Chi Minh City-Paris, Ha Noi-Frankfurt, and Ha Noi-London.
In early October this year, Viet Nam Airlines said it will launch direct flights between Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City with Germany's Munich.

Viet Nam is currently the biggest trade partner of Italy in ASEAN and Italy is the fourth largest trade partner of Viet Nam in the EU.
