Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik expressed his belief that Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan's visit would contribute to consolidating and forging the Viet Nam-Denmark comprehensive partnership.
He suggested the two sides maintain their cooperation and mutual support and work together to implement agreements within the framework of the Green Strategic Partnership approved by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen on November 1.
For her part, Vo stressed that Frederik's Viet Nam visit last year vividly demonstrated the traditional friendship and political trust of the bilateral comprehensive partnership.
She called on the Royal Family and Government of Denmark to further support Viet Nam in realizing the commitments at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
She suggested the Crown Prince support Danish organizations, such as the Green National Fund, to assist Viet Nam's green transition and encourage Danish businesses to invest in renewable energy and green growth in the Southeast Asian nation.
The same day, Vice President Vo met with representatives from Danish business giants spanning processing, manufacturing, and renewable energy, during which the Danish firms lauded efforts by the Vietnamese Government, ministries and agencies to improve the domestic investment environment.
Notably, they believed the Viet Nam-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership would open up many opportunities for foreign enterprises to invest in sustainable development and green transition.
Previously, on November 21, Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen held talks in Copenhagen, during which they agreed to step up the implementation of the joint statement on establishing the green strategic partnership.
Prime Minister Frederiksen stated that the Danish Government treasures the friendship, cooperation, and comprehensive partnership with Viet Nam – a major partner of Denmark in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in terms of trade and investment.
Denmark is ready to work with Viet Nam in the new areas of green transition and just energy transition, especially renewable energy, that the European country has rich experience in and financial capacity for, said Frederiksen.
Regarding trade and investment, the two leaders agreed that the two sides' governments, ministries, and sectors need to encourage Vietnamese and Danish enterprises to implement investment projects in the fields matching Denmark's strengths and Viet Nam's development orientations in the time ahead, such as renewable energy, marine economy, food processing, and green growth./.
