The above statement was highlighted in a UNESCO's congratulatory message which acknowledges and commends the promulgation of Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW by the Politburo.

According to the UNESCO, this important document represents a significant shift in developmental paradigm, formally recognizing culture not merely as an auxiliary sector, but as one of the four and co-equal pillars of sustainable development, alongside the Economy, Society, and the Environment.

This is closely in line with UNESCO's push to establish culture as a standalone Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) in the post-2030 international agenda.

The Resolution articulates a concrete roadmap for structural reform, aiming to mobilize social capital, catalyze the creative economy, and safeguard cultural diversity.

It builds upon Viet Nam's long-standing cultural advocacy, and provides Viet Nam with a framework to navigate the complexities of the digital era and a volatile global landscape.

"Amidst intensifying geopolitical uncertainties and the growing need for cross-cultural cohesion, UNESCO sees Viet Nam's strategic positioning of culture as the "regulatory system" for development as a substantive contribution to the collective pursuit of global peace", the organization stated.

By prioritizing people-centered values and cultural identity, Viet Nam promotes a model of development that is both self-sustaining and globally integrated.

In its message, UNESCO reaffirms its commitment to continuing cooperation with Viet Nam in realizing this vision, further asserting the role of culture as a key driver of equity, prosperity, and social cohesion on a global scale.

Recently, the Politburo has issued the Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW, which highlights the significance of innovation and digital transformation in Viet Nam's cultural development.

According to the Resolution, Viet Nam will effectively develop and monitor the national cultural data infrastructure and shared digital platforms, ensuring synchronized connectivity with national databases as well as enhance the development of digital content and digital cultural infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the tangible and intangible cultural heritage as well as high-value literary and artistic works will be comprehensively standardized and digitalized while data governance will be strengthened to ensure security and digital cultural sovereignty.

The Resolution targets to step up the development of digital infrastructure and enhance the application of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, virtual reality technologies, blockchain, and related technologies in cultural production, distribution, consumption, and cultural governance.

The Politburo has agreed to designate November 24 as "Viet Nam Culture Day," making it a public holiday with full pay, with a view to enhancing the public's access and enjoyment of culture./.
