The meeting took place right after the two nations announced the upgrade of their bilateral ties into a strategic partnership, opening a new phase of deeper, more comprehensive, and more effective cooperation.

Pham reiterated that as one of the first countries recognizing the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic in 1958, Viet Nam always treasures the strong bond and friendly relations between the two nations.

The Prime Minister suggested that the two sides should soon develop a concrete action plan for the implementation of the strategic partnership, emphasizing the need to prioritize all-level delegation exchanges.

Regarding economy–trade–investment, the leader expressed his hope that the President would direct the Algerian Parliament to promptly ratify relevant agreements and support the expansion of oil exploration and processing projects.

On food security, Viet Nam stands ready to contribute to ensuring Algeria's food security, asserted the Vietnamese leader, calling on the two sides to promote collaboration in textiles and fiber production for export to African and European markets.

The two countries should strengthen ties in defense and security, including cybersecurity and non-traditional security, promote training cooperation and enhance cultural exchanges, people-to-people exchanges, and tourism.

The Prime Minister urged both sides to maintain close coordination and support each other at multilateral forums, including by backing efforts to ensure security, safety, and freedom of navigation and overflight in the East Sea, in accordance with international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982).

President Tebboune, for his part, stated that the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and Algeria is a priceless asset that must be preserved, promoted, and elevated to new heights in line with the aspirations and interests of their peoples.

With the strong foundation of their relationship, the two sides need to establish a strategic mechanism to oversee and promote the newly formed strategic partnership, he proposed.

Consenting with the Prime Minister's proposals, the host said there are ample rooms for both nations to advance cooperation, in terms of space, pharmaceuticals, tea production, component manufacturing, and tourism./.
