Top Vietnamese, South Korean diplomats hold talks

Bui expressed his delight at the active developments in Viet Nam-South Korea comprehensive strategic partnership, asserting Viet Nam's consistent policy of promoting the bilateral ties towards substantive, comprehensive and long-term development.

He suggested South Korea continue expanding investment and improving quality of investment in Viet Nam, particularly in fields of semiconductor, digital transformation, green transition, renewable energy, and high technology.

Bui recommended South Korea continue providing loans with preferential conditions for Viet Nam's key infrastructure and climate-resilient projects.

The Vietnamese diplomat emphasized the need to foster collaboration in such areas as labor, tourism, education and people-to-people links.

The guest called on South Korea to increase scholarships for Vietnamese students and help Viet Nam train human resources for high-tech sector.

Cho Tae Yul, for his part, said the two countries have become each other's most crucial economic partners, adding that Viet Nam is one of the most important destinations for Korean investors.

South Korea always regards Viet Nam as a key partner in its policies towards the region, including the Indo-Pacific Strategy and the Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative, he underlined.

Consenting with the Vietnamese official's proposals, he affirmed South Korea's resolve to step up close cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to successfully coordinate Viet Nam-Korea relations, including jointly reviewing and promoting the effective implementation of the action program to realize the comprehensive strategic partnership.

He suggested Viet Nam create a favorable environment for Korean investors, while intensifying supply chain cooperation in essential minerals, and developing LNG power plants and hydrogen production.

The host spoke highly of Viet Nam's role as coordinator of the ASEAN-South Korea relations for 2021-2024.

Both diplomats highlighted the importance of the East Sea for peace, security and stability in the region, pledging to continue supporting the settlement of disputes in the East Sea by peaceful means in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)./.
