Special envoy of General Secretary and President To Lam, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung made the above statement during his talks with Director of the International Department of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Song Nam, in Pyongyang, on May 13.

Le congratulated the DPRK on the successful organization of the 9th Congress of the WRK.

The Party, State, and people of Viet Nam always wish to constantly foster and promote Viet Nam–DPRK relations towards a more substantive and effective development, in line with the shared aspirations of the two peoples, contributing to the maintenance of peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world, stated the guest.

Cho, for her part, warmly congratulated Viet Nam on the successful organization of the 14th National Party Congress. She hailed Viet Nam's socio-economic development achievements and its international standing.

The host reiterated the DPRK's consistent stance of treasuring the traditional friendly relations between the two Parties and two countries, in line with the interests of their peoples and in accordance with the spirit of the agreements reached between their senior leaders during the meeting in Pyongyang in October last year.

The two diplomats vowed to continue strengthening political trust via all-level delegation exchanges and visits and foster stronger ties in areas that meet the needs of both sides as well as boost people-to-people exchanges.

Both sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. They pledged to reinforce collaboration at multilateral forums such as the United Nations and the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) and contribute to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world./.
